D&G Dolce & Gabbana Primetime Watch

I know I’ve mentioned before that I don’t wear a watch anymore. I just don’t see the point anymore since I carry a cell phone with me that automatically synchronizes with whatever cell tower I’m nearest. It updates automatically for daylight savings time. I don’t have to wind it, change it, or replace the battery. Sure, I have to charge my phone, but I’d do that anyway whether it had a clock on it or not. It’s also nearly impossible to not know what time it is at any given moment, anyway. At home, there’s a clock on the microwave, on the range, by the bed, and then decorative clocks hanging in a couple of rooms. Hell, I can even check the time on the TV if I want to. And if you work in an office, there’s the clock on your computer, and there’s probably one hanging on an office wall, or on your desk. So is a watch really necessary? No. But does it make a great accessory? Of course it does! Want to get in on the latest summer trend? You need a white watch. Like this D&G Dolce & Gabbana Primetime Watch, for example.

If you can’t afford a super expensive watch with diamonds around the bezel, this is the next best thing. There are two rings of tiny crystals, an inner and an outer, and in between them, crystals take the place of numbers on the watch face. Just below what would be the twelve, there’s a D&G logo in silver-tone metal, which matches the watch hands perfectly. The watch band is made from leather, and has an adjustable buckle closure, while the case is made from stainless steel. Wear it snugly, as a watch, or loosen it up a bit and let it hang sort of like a bangle bracelet. As far as actual watch functions, the Primetime has three-hand analog quartz movement, and is water resistant to 30 meters. Get it for $219 at Zappos.com.

Budget Saving Alternative 1

Want to go a little funkier? The try this Marc by Marc Jacobs MBM2037 watch. That is such a boring name for such a cute watch. It should have been called the Polka Dotted Timekeeper or the Albino Ladybug. An oversized stainless steel case sits on a white leather strap, which closes with an adjustable buckle of silver-tone hardware. The watch face itself is tiny, meant to blend in with the black polka dots on the white face. Don’t let the large case fool you. It only weighs two ounces. Add it to your accessory collection for $175 from Zappos.com.

Budget Saving Alternative 2

This watch might be enough to make me change my mind about wearing one. How can I resist the cute little butterflies on this GUESS G75990L watch?! The round, white face is encrusted with crystals all around the edge, but inside the face are four tiny crystal butterflies. All the crystals are Swarovski, so you know the quality’s there. It’s all attached to a white, crocodile-textured leather band with an adjustable buckle closure. It’s also water resistant, but I wouldn’t let it anywhere near water. It’s too pretty to let it get messed up. The best part is, it’s only $79 at Zappos.com.
