Jimmy Choo Clue Python Sandal

I don’t usually go for anything in snake skin, or that even looks like snake skin. For one thing, snakes kinda gross me out a little. But mostly, it just seems like something only a cougar would wear. Then I saw these Jimmy Choo shoes and I’m ready to let them slither right onto my feet!

The first thing that caught my eye was the style. They are the epitome of sexy with their 4.5” heels and 3/4” platforms. The slingbacks are adjustable with a dainty buckle closure, and the peep toes are just wide enough to show off a perfect pedicure, but not so narrow your toes will feel squished. These are the kind of platform sandals that go well with a slinky dress, either in basic black or in any of the colors found in the upper.

That’s the other thing that grabbed my attention—the colors. They’re the perfect shoe for spring! The purple, green, coppery brown, and beige with gold accents seem to be taken directly from a spring palette. Pair these shoes with a lightweight, flouncy dress for a fresh yet sexy look. I think what I like best, though, is that they’d work well with my favorite article of clothing—a nice pair of slim, dark, bootleg jeans. This is key for me if I’m going to drop the $1,150 for them at JimmyChoo.com.

Budget Saving Alternative 1

Now, we know that $1,150 can buy a lot of shoes that don’t come with the Jimmy Choo label! The good thing is, you don’t have to sacrifice style for the sake of your wallet. Take a look at these comparable beauties. From GUESS, they’re the Chandrika 3 Peep Toe Platform Slingback in natural. They also come in blue and gold. They’re a little higher than the Jimmy Choo with a 5” stacked heel and 1 ¼” platform. Instead of a buckle, they have an elastic inlay for a comfy fit. Find them at for just $98.95 at Endless.com.

Budget Saving Alternative 2

If you can spend a bit more, Michael Kors offers a similar option with the Niki Platform in bone. They have a snake-embossed leather upper, stacked platform and 4 ¼” heel, and an adjustable sling with a buckle accent at the vamp. There’s a second buckle accent on the top, just above the peep toe. They look a little bulkier than the Jimmy Choo, but at just 11 ounces, you won’t even be able to tell you’re wearing shoes. They’re a steal at $154 on Zappos.com.
