The more I see of Isabella Fiore’s work, the more I find that I absolutely love her style. She combines beautiful designs with embroidery, fabric and ornamentation, and whenever I see her designs, I feel like I’d be absolutely unique whenever I wear them. Case in point: her embroidered Mary Jane pumps. I already love the Mary Jane style; I love it even more when I see how Fiore’s combined it with silvery embroidery and an ornate golden buckle enclosure.
The shoe has a stacked three-and-a-half-inch heel and a leather lining and insole. It’s also got a round-toe design – not normally something I’m a big fan of when it comes to pumps, but it works with this shoe. Ultimately, the pump speaks of elegance and class, two things that I look for in a dress shoe. I would wear these with a skirt, dress pants, or even a dark couture jean. I’ve recently gotten a tip that Mary Janes look especially good with high-waisted, wide-legged trousers ala the seventies. Since the shoe has a fairly retro design, that’s likely true. If anything, the shoe will make your legs look longer and skinnier, just by how high the heel is. I just love the subtle tracing of the embroidery over the shiny patent leather. If God made Mary Janes, this is what they’d look like.
The shoes are priced at $425.00, but they’re worth every penny for the careful detailing and elegant design. I’d actually consider that a really good deal. I found these shoes at Saks Fifth Avenue.com.
On my search for Mary Janes as beautiful as Isabella Fiore’s, I found some equally pretty ones from BCBGirls called Tuya. The Tuya pumps have a four-inch heel and perforation detail that makes the whole shoe unique. It’s made of black leather with a silver buckle enclosure and a slightly rounded toe. If you don’t like the black, you can find this shoe in brown or charcoal. Zappos.com has it for $113.95.
It’s not embroidered, but I couldn’t resist the sweetness of this Mary Jane pump by Steve Madden. The Gilee Lace-up is covered in soft black suede and has a three-and-three-quarter-inch heel. I especially love the thin lace-up bow-tie across the instep, just below the signature strap. It’s got a retro look that can’t be beat, and neither can the price. I found these at Endless.com for $119.95.
