Christian Lacroix outdoes himself with these stylish pointy toe pumps that are so geometric, I’m not sure if they are more haute couture shoes or works of art. For me, the most striking element of these shoes is the black, white, and red geometric pattern that covers their entirety. The complexity of the pattern isn’t busy, not something that will make you dizzy if you look down at your feet when you walk. No, the complexity is that of streamlined beauty and precision.

Although these shoes are beautiful to look at, their biggest fault is that they’re covered entirely with fabric, including the heel, which in my opinion would be a bitch to keep clean, especially since the majority of the shoe is white. I’m an admirer of details, even in the least likely of places, and Lacroix has passed my test by adding vibrant satin lining to the shoe’s footbed. Metallic gold covers the inner lining of the shoe. The 3.5-inch heel is fine in a clean office, but throw some dirty slush or rain the way of these shoes, and it’s off to restoration. If you like the pointed pump style, try RSVP’s Madison pointed-toe pump. It’s a classic design, with classic lines, and several features to provide comfort. You’ll appreciate those extras when you’re cramming your toes into that tiny, pointed space. First, it has a four millimeter thick foam insole, which offers comfort when standing or walking. It also features a flexible rubber sole, so it gives when you walk. Giving the Madison a bit of a contemporary look is a stacked 3.75-inch heel. The upper is made from kidskin leather, so it’s soft and supple, but be careful. Leather uppers that are too soft, on shoes that are too narrow will take on the shape of your foot, and that just looks funny.
