Santi CPM3986 Clutch

Ok, I’ve decided I have to admit it. I’m having a decidedly difficult time being snarky lately. I mean, I’m trying. I really am. It’s just not flowing as easily as it usually does. I’m feeling kind of like the Grinch at the end of the movie instead of at the beginning. Even all the craziness at the mall hasn’t put me in a bad mood. Well, except for those damn strollers people insist on pushing around the stores. Seriously, people, there’s enough crap in the stores, and way too many people to be pushing around a thing that looks like it can double as a party boat. Anyway, the holidays are just getting to me this year, and I don’t mean in a bad way. I have this urge to bake cookies and take some to my next door neighbors—and I HATE my neighbors! No really, I do. Not without reason, trust me. But seriously, I don’t know what’s going on, but I guess all I can do is ride it out and wait for it to subside so I can get back to my regular snarky self after Christmas. At least, I hope so. Oh my gosh, what if this is permanent?! No, I can’t think about that. I’ll focus on these handbags instead, because after Christmas is New Year’s Eve, and who doesn’t need a cute little clutch to go with their party dress? Is it a coincidence that this first one is from a company that sort of sound like Santa? I think not. Wow, I’m sick, I tell you. Anyway, take a look at this Santi CPM3986 clutch.

First, it’s red. It fits the season. But it’s not just red. Oh no, it’s red sequins, which, as we know, are hot this season. But wait, there’s more! Not just red sequins. Thrown in there in a random pattern are a bunch of hot pink and even peach and pale pink sequins to give the bag some depth and the illusion of movement even when you’re standing still. They’re all sewn onto a woven silk mesh. I love hot pink and orange together, but it works just as well with red. Speaking of red, the interior is lined with gorgeous satin in bright red. You won’t have any trouble finding your lip gloss in there. If you prefer something a little toned down, it also comes in a brown and gold combination, as well as gunmetal and silver. The clutch closes with a kiss-lock closure in an unobtrusive brushed metal. There’s also a delicate chain shoulder strap that you can store in the bag if you prefer to hand-carry it. The clutch comes with a dust bag to keep it looking great between parties. Get your sparkle on for $223 at Endless.com

Budget Saving Alternatives

Yeah, I know. If you’ve finished your holiday shopping, you’re not in any position to spend a couple hundred bucks on a handbag, no matter how pretty it is. I hear you. That’s why I’m giving this next handbag away! No, not really. But I wish I could! I’m telling you, I think I have a fever. This just isn’t like me. Usually I’d say, go buy your own bag. What, you want me to carry it for you too? But no, instead I feel like filling a big sack with cute little handbags and tossing them out to all you fellow fashionistas out there. I have to get a grip, especially since this Steve Madden Dalia is only $39.95. Ooh, that’s dangerous. I could buy about 50 of those, and…no! What did the bank say about that credit card? Ok, I think the urge has passed now. This Dalia isn’t as flashy as the Santi up there, but it’ll add a sophisicated touch to your holiday party outfit. The fabric outer is scrunched, and there’s just enough room inside for your cell phone, money, and lip gloss, in order of importance. The interior also has a back wall zip pocket for that credit card you promised you’d only use in an emergency. Needing a cute clutch for your holiday party ensemble qualifies as an emergency, doesn’t it? Like I said, the Dalia is only $39.95, and in addition to this cranberry, it also comes in black and gunmetal. Get one of each from Zappos.com.

For a bit of true sophistication and sleek style, try this Jessica McClintock 450970 Rectangle Satin Clutch. This brand has been around for quite a while, and has evolved with the changing styles over the years. This clutch is covered with beautifully pleated satin, attached to a glossy metal frame. There’s a chain strap that can be taken out for shoulder carrying, or hidden for glam hand carrying. The chain strap will give the bag a 17-inch shoulder drop. It may look diminutive, but at 10.5 inches wide, there’s plenty of room for all your evening necessities. And while this true red is sure to grab some attention, the clutch also comes in six other colors: black, pewter, bronze, burgundy, gold, and navy. Choose your favorite, or get a few. It’s only $35 at Endless.com.
