Hobo International Eden Clutch

Hobo International Eden Clutch

I was thinking about that Kate Spade blouse I talked about a few weeks ago, and while I love the whole black and white ensemble complete with accessories, one of my favorite color combinations is black and white with a splash of red thrown in. That blouse would look great with a black or charcoal gray pencil skirt, and then either a pair of red pumps, or a fabulous red handbag. What would really make it pop is if either the shoes or the bag were patent leather. I think you’d need to be careful, though, because as much as I love that blouse, the polka dots are not dainty, and if you went with a big, bright red handbag, you’d run the risk of looking like a clown. Keeping the bag small is the way to go, which means you’d need a clutch. This Hobo International Eden clutch is the way to go.

I like it for its simplicity. It’s sleek, with clean lines, yet the curve of the flap gives it a nice touch of femininity. I think the oversized button on the flap sort of mimics the polka dots on that blouse, too, making it even more of a matching accessory. The Eden is one hundred percent patent leather, with a canvas lining and a divided interior. At 10.75 inches wide and 4.5 inches high, it’s just the right size for your essentials without being too bulky. It also has a little removable coin purse, and a magnetic closure to keep everything secure. In addition to this red, which they call sangria, it’s also available in black, shadow (gray), and blush. Add it to your collection for just $128 at Endless.com.

Budget Saving Alternatives

Now this one, I’m not so crazy about. Yes, it’s red, and it’s patent leather. But does Dooney and Bourke have to put such a huge logo plate on it? I guess it’s not really that big, but when you put it on a small clutch, it seems huge. When designers do that, it makes me feel like they should be paying me for advertising their brand when I carry their product around. I’m all for quality brands, and there are several designers I really like, but I don’t feel the need to wave something around for everyone to see what designer I’m wearing or carrying. If they want to pay me a commission for doing that, then sure. Until then, how about easing up on the blatant brand flashing, huh D&B? If this clutch is your style, though, it’s all leather, fully lined, with a top flap and snap closure. It also has a detachable wrist strap which gives it an 11-inch drop. It’s about the same size as the Eden, at 10.25 inches wide and 5.25 inches high. It also comes in black. I’m not really digging it, but at least it’s on sale. It’s usually $155, but you can get it for just $110.20 right now at Zappos.com.

When one brand lets me down, I can always count on another, and Big Buddha hasn’t failed me yet! I love this little Avi clutch. It could actually be used as a wallet, if you wanted to go that way. It has lots of little storage pockets and slots for cards, money, whatever. The zip pocket on the back exterior can be used to store change. The interior is gusseted, so it can stand up to everyday use. I also like the faux croc print on the synthetic exterior. It’s fully lined as well, and has a flap closure. It also comes in black, brown, white, tan, and emerald. Get a few colors since it’s just $40 at Endless.com.

You’re absolutely right the polka dots aren’t dainty and the clutch needs to stay small. I love it! The outfit you’ve described here sounds super cute too- love it all!
