No it’s not an intergalactic pencil case. Its Gucci’s newest crystal evening bag design, and it looks like, well, a pencil case for an engineer or architect. What? I could see someone putting their compass and pencil sharpeners in there. I sure as hell wouldn’t put my lipstick in this testosterone-infused design. You don’t agree? Well, what do these elements sound like to you? Black Pexiglass-covered, hammered studding, thin gold lettering…it sounds like an ad for a man’s name plate. I just think Gucci totally missed the mark with this one. Yes, there have been a ton of men’s inspired tweed and pantsuit fashions for fall, and some of those really pull it off. However this Gucci handbag is hardly worthy to call itself a woman’s evening bag. Who in their right mind would wear this with an evening gown or even a ball skirt and silk tank?
