So I’m at the mall the other day (Hey, I write a fashion blog—I have to see what’s out there, don’t I? It’s all work-related research.), and I wandered into Nordstrom. I normally try to avoid stores like Nordstrom, Macy’s, Saks, etc., because I invariably end up spending way more than I should. I was good the other day, though. I spent quite a bit of time in the handbag section, stroking the bags, smelling their new leather smell, taking pictures of myself with different bags. Remember the last Fendi style nightmare? Well, it’s safe to say that the designer has bounced back and I, for one, am sighing with relief. Part of Fendi’s resort collection, this Bag de Jour handbag is bold, black, and ultimately sexy. It’s made of black, shining perforated leather with a zingy turquoise topstitching, and silver-toned hardware. The double handles are woven and attached to the bag with rings, and it also includes a shoulder strap in case you get tired of holding it in your hand. Although I feel you should be able to display a logo if you’ve paid for it, sometimes the designers go a bit far in blaring to the world that yes, this is a designer bag! Fendi, one such designer known to advertise their logo in seemingly-garish ways, has actually done it in a subtle, stylish way this time. There are the interlocking Fs on the front of the bag, but they’ve cleverly included more Fs in the trim and logo. Frankly, after the last Fendi bag I reviewed, I’m surprised and impressed.
