If you’re a regular reader, you’re familiar with my newfound love for (possibly obsession with) the color orange. Now, along with cooler temperatures and warm, fuzzy sweaters, I have something else to look forward to this fall—more orange! Pumpkins, leaves, people who overdo the self-tanner. Seriously, when you start to look like an oompa-loompa, it’s time to put the tanner away. Please. Just stop. You look ridiculous. And it’s September! You don’t need to be tan anymore, and you never, ever need to be orange! Not unless you plan to work in a chocolate factory. Now, where was I? Oh yes, the good kind of orange. One look at this Bodhi The Frame Satchel, and I’m ready to rake some leaves! Ok, not really. But I do like the bag.
It has a bit of a retro look to it, but it’s contemporary at the same time with clean lines and brass hardware. It’s made from one hundred percent lambskin, which is quilted in a diamond pattern for a classic, sophisticated feel. The interior is lined in jacquard, and is divided and offers a few pockets for organization and storage. A top zip closure keeps your belongings secure, while the platform bottom keeps the bag upright. At 13 inches wide and 7.75 inches high, there’s plenty of room for everything you need to carry. The dual handles give the bag a 4.5-inch drop, perfect for hand carrying. It’s also available in black and a bright blue. Give one of them a try for $668 at Endless.com.

Etienne Aigner has been around for a long time now, and I usually don’t care for their products much because they look like stuff only a grandmother would carry or wear. But lately, I’ve seen some designs of theirs that make it seem like they’re trying to update their image a little, while at the same time remaining a classically-styled brand. Aigner stuff also used to be a little on the expensive side, but nowadays, the brand is sometimes a lower cost alternative that offers just as much flair to your wardrobe as more expensive designs. This Irvington satchel is a good example. It’s made from soft leather, and has dual handles which give the bag a seven-inch drop, good for hand- or shoulder-carrying. The fully lined interior offers a back wall zip pocket, and a few slip pockets, while the exterior boasts two flap pockets on the sides for even more storage. A magnetic snap keeps the bag closed, and it has a platform bottom as well. What I like best is the color. It’s called tangerine, but to me, it’s a milder orange than that, a bit reminiscent of peach ice cream. It also comes in black, and a color called vachetta, which is a medium beige color. The Fossil Blackburn II E/W satchel is a simpler looking bag, even if the name is more complicated. It’s fairly wide at 13 inches, but is just 7 inches high for a more compact look. It’s made from one hundred percent leather, which has a pebbled texture. A true shoulder bag, the dual straps provide a ten-inch drop. The interior is lined, with a back wall zip pocket and a few slip pockets. The exterior also offers two side patch pockets, so despite its smaller size, it offers a good amount of space. The top zips closed. The Blackburn is available in an avocado green, and in this nectarine color. Here’s a tip: If your skin tone matches this bag, you need to lay off the self-tanner.
