Kate Spade Take A Dip Small Coal Tote

So it occurred to me that if I’m going to be spending time on a boat this summer (and hopefully, a lot of time), in addition to water-resistant sandals, I’ll need a good tote that can withstand water too. The last thing I need is to take one of my leather handbags on the boat with me, and have it splashed with salt water, or worse, fall in and get completely soaked. That would be the end of that handbag. There’s a big difference between the distressed look, and the destroyed look. [click to continue…]

Marc by Marc Jacobs Bloom Pendant Watch

I think spring may be the only time we can get away with wearing colorful, over-the-top, flowery accessories without shame. Usually, a flowery necklace might make you look like an eight-year-old. But in spring, all is forgiven. People are happy to be outside again without wearing five layers of clothing, and everything’s in bloom again, so seeing a few floral accessories isn’t all that unusual. Now, I’m not saying you should go to work wearing a big hibiscus in your hair, or drape yourself with a plastic daisy chain. [click to continue…]

Usually I try to alternate the things I feature on the blog to keep things interesting. For example, I don’t normally write about shoes two posts in a row. But I’m making an exception today because it’s May, and you know what that means—it’s time to get ready for those June weddings! Maybe it wouldn’t be so sensitive if I wore thong sandals more, but other than the discomfort, I just don’t like the way they look on my foot. See, I’m not one of those people who wears whatever’s popular regardless of how it looks. You know those people. The women who wear cap sleeves when their upper arms are as big around as their calves.

I’m in the wrong business. I make a pretty decent living doing what I do. I blog on the side for fun, and to engage with others who share my interests. And usually I don’t suffer from greener grass syndrome. And then yesterday I was surfing, looking for a cool bag to write about, and I found a Kooba. I wanted to read more about the brand, so I did a search—and found this. The creative director of Kooba, which has only been in business since 1998, recently bought a new house. In The Hamptons. For $6.1 million. Dollars.

These days, if a celebrity hasn’t had plastic surgery, they’re in the minority. And possibly not even a real celebrity. Even the ones who seem to turn their noses up at it eventually end up getting their noses turned up. Take Kate Hudson. How long has she had that boy chest? Having a kid didn’t even give her boobs. All that pain and sleep interruption she went through, and she didn’t even get a pair of A cups out of it. And people wonder why I’m not crazy about crumb snatchers.
